Quick Answer
Astribot S1 is a Shenzhen prototype famous for high-speed arm demos — cooking, folding, catching — usually from a torso that is not doing a walking shift. The old page called it a full bipedal humanoid, scored it 9.0, and compared it to Optimus. Speed on a stand is not a factory humanoid.
Our Verdict
| Field | Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Overall Review Score | 6.4 / 10 | Impressive manipulation clips. Prototype, no datasheet. |
| Commercial readiness | 2.5 / 10 | Price not listed. Availability: prototype. |
| Consumer readiness | 1.0 / 10 | |
| Autonomy confidence | Low outside staged demos | Old stencil even rated autonomy Level 2. |
| Best for | Watching what very fast arms look like on video | |
| Biggest concern | Assuming the viral clip is a walking worker |
What it is
Astribot’s high-speed upper-body humanoid. Our own profile card leaves height, weight, payload, runtime and DOF as not verified, and mobility as stationary. That is more honest than the review stencil that filed it as a full biped next to Atlas.
What is published
Company and social-video demos. One official-site reference on our profile. No public MSRP. No third-party cycle-time. We are not inventing a walking spec because some stills show legs.
Flaws
Unpublished mechanical numbers. Demo lighting. No support story. The identical 60-count FAQ about LiDAR and ROS that sat on this page had nothing to do with S1.
Real-world usefulness
As a reminder that upper-body speed is a real research axis. As a thing you can buy and staff this year: not supported by the public record. If you need a biped with a published shop price, this is the wrong URL.
