LimX Luna Review: 160 cm Interactive Humanoid at RMB 298,000

Review FAQ

How does Firgelli Robots review robots? Each robot review is an engineering review of published specifications, manufacturer materials, and field reports. Scores reflect evidence quality and claimed capability, not a lab test of every unit.

Is this a hands-on lab test? No. Firgelli Robots does not lab-test every robot. Reviews are source-backed engineering assessments.

Where is the spec card versus the review? This article is the canonical review. Database profile pages are spec cards for images, specifications, and availability.

Quick Answer

LimX Luna is LimX Dynamics’ full-size interactive humanoid for malls, venues, and anyone who wants a 160 cm dancer that can learn a routine from a video. Official China retail is RMB 298,000. The first hundred units were offered RMB 40,000 off. Body DOF is 27, not counting the end effectors. LimX’s own English FAQ puts mass at 54 kg. That is the set we will use.

This page is not the old Limx catalog card, and it is not that card’s review. The old slug still carries a broken 164 mm height cell. Luna is a later, named product. Independent’s WRC 2026 photo package, 19–23 August 2026, printed the 160 cm / RMB 298,000 pair. Reuters photographed LimX staff on 19 August. We are not retitling the old listing. We opened this one.

Our Verdict

Field Rating Notes
Overall Review Score 6.6 / 10 As a priced commercial entertainer. As a factory worker: ignore the score and walk away.
Commercial (venue) readiness 6.8 / 10 A real MSRP, a content app, and a cluster-control story. Still a new SKU.
Industrial / labor readiness 1.5 / 10 Wrong robot. Fabric skin and video-to-dance are not a pallet spec.
Consumer readiness 2.5 / 10 RMB 298,000 is a venue budget, not a living-room budget.
Autonomy confidence Low outside a scripted show LimX Studio is a content tool. That is not general autonomy.
Source confidence High on height, price, DOF LimX news, 25 May 2026, plus the official FAQ. Weight 54 kg from that FAQ.

What Luna is for

LimX Dynamics (逐际动力) already had Oli, a full-size general-purpose humanoid. Luna is the sibling they dressed for commercial space. The 25 May 2026 launch note is unusually direct: 160 cm, 27 body DOF, fabric wrap to kill the industrial look, a face screen, speakers, lights, video-to-motion, zero-code task editing, and cluster control up to 200 units. The job is to hold a crowd in a mall, a park, a show booth, a wedding, a car launch — and to let the operator change the act without hiring a motion-capture stage.

That is a narrower, more honest product than “general humanoid.” It is also how you end up with a 54 kg dancer that still needs a safety plan, because a full-size biped in a food court is a liability even when it is pretty.

Hardware we will quote

Specification Value Confidence
Manufacturer LimX Dynamics Official
Height 160 cm Official launch + Independent WRC week
Weight 54 kg Official English FAQ (Luna vs Oli)
DOF 27 body, excluding end effectors Official launch
Price RMB 298,000 China retail Official; first 100 were RMB 40,000 off
Runtime 4 hours claimed, external power for 24-hour ops Official launch note
Payload Not published as a work payload Leave blank. This is not a picker.

The FAQ contrast with Oli is useful: Luna is the slimmer, screen-faced, heat-managed, louder, more “show” body. If a vendor quotes you Oli numbers on a Luna PO, send it back.

What it can do — and the gap

Dance, catwalk, splits, imitation, talk, gesture, play a role from a knowledge base. LimX Studio is the actual product around the metal: import a dance video, pose the joints by hand, or start from ten shipped routines, then chain speech and vision into a scene. Cluster sync is sold as millisecond-class for up to 200 units. We have not timed 200 Lunas. Treat that as a company claim.

Safety on the launch note is four-layer brochure language: collision detect, fall sense, task abort, e-stop on body / app / remote. Good that they listed it. Not the same as a third-party certificate. A fabric cover makes the thing friendlier to touch and easier to snag. Heat is called out as 30 percent better than the previous generation. Previous generation is Oli-class, not a number we measured on Luna.

What Luna does not do, publicly: pick a 10 kg tote, tend a CNC, or run a warehouse loop. Anyone filing it next to Digit or Apollo as a labor robot is reading the wrong catalog.

WRC week

Independent’s WRC package from 19–23 August 2026 repeated 160 cm and RMB 298,000. That is a show-week reprint of the May launch, not a new measurement. Reuters had LimX people on the floor 19 August. We are not turning those photos into a factory case study.

Who should buy it

Venue operators, malls, auto shows, parks, and agencies that will actually use LimX Studio every week. People who have RMB 298,000 and a safety plan for a 54 kg biped in a crowd. Not a researcher who wanted Oli. Not someone who clicked the old Limx card and thought 164 mm was a typo for Luna.

Strengths

  • A real China retail price. Rare.
  • The content tool is the product, not an afterthought.
  • Height, mass, and DOF come from LimX, not a scraper.
  • Visually its own machine. Fabric and a face screen are not the old Limx render.

Limitations

  • Entertainer, not a labor platform. Score it that way or you will hate it.
  • 4-hour pack is a show length, not a store shift, unless you leave it on a tether.
  • 200-unit sync is a claim.
  • The old /pages/limx card will keep confusing searchers until someone kills that height cell for good.

How it compares

Against LimX Oli: Oli is the generalist. Luna is the dressed, cheaper-to-content performer. Against Unitree G1: G1 is a compact developer biped at a fraction of the money. Against Bumi: Bumi is a ~98 cm edu toy. Luna is a 160 cm venue adult. Against the old Limx listing: different URL, different robot, do not reuse that hero.

FAQ

Is this the old Limx page?

No. That card is /pages/limx and still carries a bad 164 mm cell. This review is Luna.

How much does Luna cost?

RMB 298,000 China retail on the 25 May 2026 launch note. First 100 were RMB 40,000 off. Confirm live with LimX; show-week reprints are not a forever coupon.

How tall is it?

160 cm. Official, and repeated by Independent during WRC 19–23 August 2026.

Does it work in a factory?

That is not the product. Buy something else.

Is the photo Oli?

No. The file is LimX’s Luna launch art. Oli is a different LimX body.
