Quick Answer
TALOS is PAL Robotics’ torque-controlled full-size research humanoid. The old stencil called it a warehouse robot and scored it 9.0. Both were wrong. Labs buy TALOS to work on whole-body control. Warehouses do not.
Our Verdict
| Field | Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Overall Review Score | 6.7 / 10 | Real lab platform. Not a commercial tote robot. |
| Research usefulness | 7.6 / 10 | Torque control and ROS are the point. |
| Commercial readiness | 4.5 / 10 | Sold as a research system. Price not listed. |
| Consumer readiness | 0.5 / 10 | |
| Autonomy confidence | Supervised / researcher-driven | |
| Best for | Humanoid-control labs that already know PAL | |
| Biggest concern | Treating a 6 kg research payload as warehouse proof |
What it is
A Barcelona-built biped. PAL’s public figures: 175 cm, 95 kg, 6 kg payload. That payload is a lab number for two-arm research work, not a tote-move rating.
What is published
PAL product pages, ROS documentation, and papers from groups that own a TALOS. There is no public MSRP on our profile and no independent warehouse throughput study.
Flaws
The May 2025 page filed TALOS under “warehouse robot” because the template had that slot. TALOS is a research humanoid. If you want PAL’s service/logistics story, that is a different PAL platform, not this URL.
Real-world usefulness
High for a university or corporate lab that wants a torque-controlled adult-size biped and will staff it. Low for anyone trying to replace a person on a line. REEM-C is the older PAL biped on this site; do not collapse the two.
