What it is
S2 is the Cruzr you buy when the aisle is narrow and the tote is heavy. The symmetrical body and bidirectional bend are the design joke that is also the feature: turn around in 0.8 m without a three-point dance. The 0–40 cm lift is how it reaches a low pallet and a mid rack without a second robot. Hands are the expensive part — UBTECH says gen-4 industrial dexterous hands, sub-millimeter sorting/assembly, 11 DOF per hand and a 7.5 kg single-hand grasp on the same official graphic. Believe the number after you see the part.

UBTECH. S2 is not Y1 with a paint job. Y1 is the lift-column tote specialist. S2 is the full-size wheeled generalist with a published workspace. Do not let a dealer swap the photos.

What it can actually do
On the page: sort, assemble, carry 15 kg, roll at 2 m/s, lean, lift, see in stereo. On the WRC floor: the same family of factory-style tasks Y1 was doing. I have not seen a published S2 cell with a named customer, a cycle time, or a drop-test. The “human-eye” binocular line is marketing for a real sensor choice (passive stereo, no structured light in the copy). Lighting will still bite you.
Flaws
Mass is missing. A 15 kg payload on an unpublished curb weight is how you get a wheeled humanoid that looks stable in a render and walks itself over on a wet epoxy floor. Runtime is missing. The 176 cm / 44 DOF graphic is useful and still a graphic. And S2’s official page is bilingual product marketing, not a manual — ask for the real PDF before you sign.
Real-world usefulness
If the 15 kg / 0.8 m / 1.8 m trio is true on your floor, S2 is one of the more grown-up wheeled humanoids you can actually name. That is a higher bar than most 2026 booths. It is still a project, not an appliance. Pair it with Y1 only if you have two different cells, not because the names sit together on a slide.
