The official table is unusually complete for a Chinese humanoid: 1642 × 552 × 292 mm, about 71 kg, up to 55 actuators with the optional 12-DOF hand, about 3 kg on one arm, 6.1 km/h walk, 46.8 V, about 936 W, dual hot-swap packs (702 + 234 Wh) for roughly three hours. Soft cover, touch + vision + hearing, “Love, above all functionality.” That last line is Fourier’s. The 3 kg arm is mine to underline. This is a companion-shaped body, not a tote robot.
Do not confuse it with Fourier GR-2 (the earlier 175 cm / 63 kg / 53 DOF research/service biped we already reviewed), Fourier G1 (a different Fourier seed SKU), or Unitree G1 (the $13.5K Hangzhou developer biped). Same letter, four robots.

What it is
GR-3 is Fourier’s first full-size “Care-bot” in the GRx line. The official introduction talks about approachability, safety, and emotional interaction: 31 distributed pressure sensors, an eye screen, a four-mic array, RGB plus structured-light face tracking. The support diagram we used as the featured image is the honest picture — front and back, battery door, e-stop, lanyard ring. That ring is there because a 71 kg biped still falls.
At WRC, Independent also described a non-invasive BCI cap piloting a humanoid at the Fourier booth. That is a research demo next to the product, not a GR-3 consumer feature. I am not folding a lab cap into the buying score.

Fourier Intelligence (傅利叶). Rehab-robot company that grew a humanoid line: GR-1, GR-2, then GR-3. The care-bot is a brand turn, not a new manufacturer.

What it can actually do
Walk at a brisk 6.1 km/h on the spec sheet, gesture, look at a face, react to touch, carry something in the 3 kg class. Fourier’s 2025 launch copy aims it at companionship, public service, education, and eldercare. WRC 2026 showed the same body waving in a booth. That is a year of product, not a year of published care-home hours. I have not seen a named facility, a night-shift log, or a fall-rate.
Flaws
Three kilograms is the tell. You cannot turn down a bed or transfer a person with a 3 kg arm. Soft cover helps a hug and hides a structure that is still 71 kg of metal and pack — the cover does not make a fall soft. Three hours means a hot-swap discipline or a short visit, not a 12-hour ward. And the name soup (GR-3 / GR-2 / Fourier G1 / Unitree G1) will keep wasting buyer time until people stop pasting the wrong gallery.
Real-world usefulness
Useful as a documented, moderate-height companion platform for labs, show floors, and carefully scoped public-service pilots. Not useful as a nurse, a warehouse picker, or a Unitree-priced developer kit. If you wanted Fourier’s earlier research biped, that review is still GR-2. If you wanted the $13.5K Hangzhou biped, that is Unitree G1.
Price and availability
No WRC-day MSRP from Fourier in the sources I trust. Third-party shops quoting $85k–$100k are shops, not Fourier. Ask Fourier.
Who should consider it / who should avoid it
Consider GR-3 if you want a spec-transparent care-shaped biped and you already have a Fourier conversation. Avoid it if you need payload, a public price, or you thought this was Unitree G1.
